One of the best ways to explore and experience the natural wonders of Hakone is by mountain bike. Mountain Ripper is based in the Hakone highlands of Sengokuhara and offers different courses to suit your ability levels and time. The tours encourage leaving a minimal environmental impact, maintaining high safety standards, and allowing you to discover the beauty of Hakone on one of the many courses on offer. These bike tours allow you see the nature of Japan up close and at a different pace with a knowledgeable local host to guide you.

There is the 3 hour 17 km ride called “Deep Forest Cruising”,  which is the basic and most popular experience taking you to hidden spots in the Sengokuhara area.

The “Hakone Power Spot Cruising Tour” is a 3 hour and 17 km ride in which you visit two spiritual locations in Hakone. This tour is a bit easier because of the relatively flat terrain along Lake Ashi.

You can also choose the “Round the Lake Ashi Tour” which is geared towards intermediate riders for a 5 hour 18km ride around the lake.

Tours prices include bike rental teatime, water, accident insurance. There is a 12 person maximum participation limit, but private tours are also available. Participants must be at least 140cm in height.
