RyokanKaiseki, a Culinary Experience
The Fujiya Hotel in Hakone opened on July 15, 1878. The classic exterior of the building is full of attractions, and the hotel is one of the pioneer resort hotels in Japan. The guest lists for this hotel includes Albert Einstein, Charlie Chaplin, Helen Keller, Dwight Eisenhowser, Emperors, and many more.
Hakone is home to many ryokan who have welcomed travelers for hundreds of years. The traditional form of hospitality known as "Omotenashi" is part of a cultural experience at a ryokan. This is the story of one of many places in Hakone that have been in operation for more than 300 years.
