Rest House Fuji View is located 3 kilometers from the Hakone Pass tollgate on the Ashinoko Skyline, a winding road that stretches along a ridge overlooking Lake Ashinoko. The resthouse is located between a number of famous roads popular with car enthusiasts on the weekends. The Rest House Fuji View has a small cafe famous for the Lake Ashi shaped curry dish and other interesting activities. There are views of Mt. Fuji and the view of Suruga Bay from there is very good. There is also a large parking lot that is a popular gathering area for Japanese weekend racers to gather before or after they take one of the famous drives around the Hakone area. The parking space is large enough to accommodate more than 80 cars. The parking lot is also used for RC car races (available for rental) and even the landing spot for short helicopter tours above Hakone. These tours are not run on a daily basis so please check if you are interested.
The parking is free of charge. This café-restaurant is frequented by car enthusiasts, motorcycle enthusiasts, and radio-controlled car enthusiasts. Popular dishes include Unsuke soba, curry cutlets, freshly ground coffee and cake, and soft ice cream.
