The trails around the Hakone Visitor are a good introduction to Hakone’s nature and ecosystems. It is a suitable place for beginners to take nature walks and where you can easily enjoy and learn about the variety of landscapes, plants, and animals of Hakone. This is also a good place for bird watching. Over 110 species of birds have been recorded here.
The Hakone Visitor Center is at the center of a 20 hectares green area. There is a Flower Plaza where you can enjoy the flowers of the trees throughout the four seasons, the Forest of Wild Birds for bird watching, and a Children’s Plaza with a large lawn. Some of the routes are barrier-free for easy access. Wheelchair, binocular, hammock, and groundsheet rentals are available at the Hakone Visitor Center.
