Lake Ashinoko is the largest lake in Kanagawa prefecture. It was formed centuries ago when Mt.Kamiyama had erupted and dammed up the Hayakawa River. Much of its abundant flowing water is from an underground spring, thus indicating the unusual nature of this lake. A hiking trail on the west bank of the lake, one lap is about 20 km.
The Forest Bathing Path is also to be found on this trail.
