There are many different hot spring onsen to explore in the Hakone area. There are hot spring that are open to visitors not staying the evening Hakone. You can use these “day use” onsen without staying the night and even for just a few hours at a time. These hot spring give you the flexibility and opportunity to try and experience different onsen during your visit. Some of these places offer private bathing facilities, some allow tattoos, and all have their own appeal and beauty for you to explore.
